Microsoft is set to unveil a new Xbox 360 controller at its E3 press conference on June 10th. Dubbed the “Modern Controller,” the updated design will be available in both wired and wireless versions, and it will include features like a D-pad, four face buttons, and an Xbox button. The Modern Controller is designed to improve upon the current Xbox 360 controller design, which has been criticized for being outdated and difficult to use. The new controller will be more comfortable to hold and use, making it easier for players to navigate their games. The Modern Controller is set to become available starting in fall of this year, and Microsoft plans on releasing additional accessories such as a headset adapter that will allow players to use their existing headsets with the Modern Controller. ..

The Hyperkin Xenon is an officially licensed imitation of the Xbox 360 controller that’s made to work with modern Xbox consoles, such as the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X, as well as with modern PCs running Windows 10 and Windows 11. The controller’s whole shtick is that it looks and feels just like an Xbox controller from 2005, except today.

It has a few buttons changed around to match the modern functionality of Xbox controllers, including a Share button, as well as the addition of a headphone jack and a USB-C port. But the controller itself should be pretty much identical to the Xbox 360 controller. It has the same silhouette and the same overall button configuration, and even the same aesthetics. The only catch is that you’ll need to use it wired, but other than that, this is a perfect controller for anyone looking for a wild flashback.

If you want to get it, it’ll be available early next year, but there’s no pre-order or store page yet. In the meantime, there are plenty of other options for PC gaming controllers, many of which also work with Xbox game consoles.
